A Central Point man could be heading to prison for more than two years after he was found guilty on Wednesday on felony charges of fourth-degree assault and coercion. Prosecutors say 45-year-old Brett Wayne Chancler was arrested in July after he locked his girlfriend in a room and beat her over the course of a weekend. The victim managed to call 911 when Chancler fell asleep. Police traced her cell phone to a residence where they forced their way in. Chancler has three previous convictions for domestic violence. He'll be sentenced next week.
