Officials are investigating after a helicopter crashed in rugged terrain west of Shady Cove.  Just after 3 p.m. yesterday, the helicopter, contracted by the Oregon Department of Forestry, crashed while it was fighting two grass fires. The pilot, 30-year-old Cody Seeger, escaped without injury. Due to the terrain, it took rescuers over two hours to find him. A preliminary investigation indicates that engine failure may be to blame for the crash.
