Jackson County Commissioner Don Skundrick, a Republican, has announced that he's endorsing Democratic candidate Jeff Scroggin over Republican Doug Breidenthal in the County Commissioner race. Skundrick said that he is simply recommending a person who would do a better job. Scroggin and Breidenthal are running for the commissioner seat currently held by C.W. Smith, who will be retiring at the end of his term. Breidenthal once served as chairman for the Jackson County Republican Central Committee. Scroggin is an aide to State Senator Alan Bates.
