Nine people are dead and more than two dozen were injured after a tour bus plunged down an embankment just east of Pendleton yesterday morning. According to police, the driver of the bus lost control on the snow and ice-covered westbound lanes of Interstate 84. The bus crashed through a guardrail and went down an embankment approximately 200 feet before coming to rest. Approximately 40 people were onboard.
