A 16-year-old boy has been cited by Oregon State Police following a report that a red-tail hawk had been shot in the Swan Lake area near Klamath Falls. An OSP Fish & Wildlife trooper responded to a complaint from a landowner that two juveniles had been involved in the shooting of the hawk on his property. They attempted to flee once police arrived. They were later contacted, and one of the boys was cited for unlawful take of a protected species.
