The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is continuing their investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident on Table Rock Road last night. Witnesses say at approximately 8:30 p.m., a car driven by 19-year-old Jesse Meadows of Eagle Point was traveling north on Table Rock Road near Whiskey River Bar when 54-year-old Frank Charlton of Central Point stepped into his path while attempting cross Table Rock road. Charlton was struck and thrown into the southbound lane. Moments later, Charlton was struck by a second vehicle heading southbound. The driver, 21-year-old Jacob Lyon of Central Point was unable to stop in time. Charlton was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was found to be impaired. Toxicology results on Charlton are pending.
