A warrant has been issued for the arrest of two men authorities believe broke into the Siskiyou County Superior Courthouse in Yreka last year and made off with $1.26 million worth of gold. Police are searching for 49-year-old David Dean Johnson of El Cerrito, California, and 51-year-old Scott Wayne Bailey of El Sobrante, California. After a year-long investigation, police recovered evidence from several homes in Shasta and Contra Costa counties that pointed to the men, including DNA evidence. It was also discovered that some of the stolen gold has been used to purchase high-value items.
