The Oregon Senate has voted 20 to 7 to allow undocumented residents in the state to obtain driver cards. Applicants would need to have resided in Oregon for at least one year, and must also provide proof of identity and date of birth. The bill is intended only for driving, and will not allow people to vote, board a plane or obtain state or federal benefits. The House will likely vote on the bill sometime next week.
