Medford police are investigating a fire that was intentionally set yesterday. Fire crews responded to a vacant house on Prune Street in west Medford at approximately 7:41 p.m. The fire was extinguished in about 12 minutes, but the garage suffered heavy damage. There was also significant smoke damage throughout the rest of the house. Investigators are encouraging residents in west Medford to pay close attention to individuals not normally seen in the area, especially if they are looking around vacant properties. This is the ninth suspicious fire in the area in the last year.
