A new state of the art video security system has been installed in Shady Cove Middle School. Jackson County Sheriffs announced that the school is the first in the nation to have this technology. Classrooms are equipped with cameras and panic buttons. When the teacher activates it, video rolls, and first responders are notified. The system can all operate door locks.
The NEXAR SOS system was installed over Memorial Day weekend with local businesses Precision Electric and Adroit Construction donating staff and man-hours for the project. NEXAR was developed by Future Concepts, a California business.
