KMED news has learned that assault and harrassment charges have been dropped against 29-year old security guard Jason Lee Libby. Libby had been accused of assaulting a man and woman and impersonating a police officer during an attempted arrest in front of Weldon's Cleaners on Crater Lake Avenue in early January. Libby had tried to take a couple of people into custody for trespassing at Weldons, which contracted with Libby's firm, Jackson County Security. Jason Libby's partner in the firm, twin brother Don Libby, still faces an August court appearance, charged with 2 counts of impersonating a police officer. This in connection to a January 8th incident involving an 18-year old man who was allegedly ordered out of his car by Don Libby, and questioned about intoxicants.
